MAMA Apostle Dr. James Akwasi Oppong, affectionately known as Jakwapo, embodies the spirit of hard work and societal contribution.

His journey, starting from humble beginnings, has transformed him into a renowned entrepreneur, philanthropist, and now, the Founder, Leader, and Presidential Candidate of the Risen People’s Party (RPP).

Born on July 15, 1962, Dr. James Akwasi Oppong’s early life laid the foundation for his future achievements. He completed Bechem Presbyterian Secondary School in 1978.

He is the son of the late Nana Kwasi Abamo Ababio, a former Chief of Wawase in the Ashanti Region, and the late Ama Amankwaa of Boaman-Kwamang in the Afigya-Sekyere district, also in the Ashanti Region.

Driven by a vision to become a successful business magnate, Dr. Oppong ventured into petty trading after secondary school. This initial venture proved to be the catalyst for his transformation into a successful international merchant, specializing in the import of secondhand clothing from Nigeria.

His dedication, focus, and unwavering hard work propelled him forward, turning his dreams into reality.

Dr. Oppong’s business ventures allowed him to travel extensively, forging connections and conducting business in countries like the United States, Holland, Thailand, Togo, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Ivory Coast ammo others.

His entrepreneurial spirit continued to flourish, leading him to establish Solid 103.7fm, a popular local radio station in Kumasi. This venture not only provided a valuable service to the community but also created employment opportunities for numerous individuals.

MA FM recently established in the Greater Accra region is yet to be commissioned.

He further expanded his business empire with the establishment of Treasureland Hotel in Kumasi-Ayigya, among other ventures under the umbrella of his Jakwapo Express Group of Companies.

Inspired by his success and deeply rooted in his faith, Master, Master, Apostle Dr. James Akwasi Oppong established Lord Is Lord Chapel Chapel and Oppong Risen Chapel International.

Through these religious institutions, he dedicated himself to transforming lives and bringing souls closer to God.

Driven by a conviction that he received divine instruction, Dr. Oppong founded the Risen People’s Party (RPP) approximately four years ago.

According to him, God directed him to form a political party to “rescue and reform” Ghana, believing that the country was suffering under oppressive rule.

The RPP’s core objective is to improve the economy, potentially by changing the Ghana Cedi to a stronger currency like the pound sterling, dollar, or euro.

Furthermore, the party aims to foster greater unity among African nations and advocate for a common continental currency to boost economic development.

Master, Master, Apostle Dr. James Akwasi Oppong’s story is one of resilience, dedication, and faith. His journey from a young trader to a successful businessman, religious leader, and now, a presidential candidate, exemplifies the power of hard work and the pursuit of a higher purpose.
